8 year old with vaginal bleeding on Step 2 CK exam

The most common causes of vaginal bleeding in an 8yr old:

1.  Foreign Body (such as tissue paper)

2.  Abuse 

3.  Sarcoma Botyroides – a grape-like protrusion from the vagina can be seen

4.  Precocious Puberty

Management – Perform a speculum exam with consent + sedation of the child.
